Imagine packing your son an extra lunch every morning simply because he asked you to. Well, Josette Duran, 38, has been sending two homemade lunch packs to school under her son’s request for two months.
For two months, Jesette never asked her son a question. The middle-aged mother only thought that her son needed an extra lunch pack because he was just hungry, only to know the truth that changed the perceptions she held about her son.
Then came a day when the Albuquerque, New Mexico-based woman decided to address the elephant in the room and asked Dylan why he was taking an extra meal to school.
Dylan, 14, frankly told his mother the real reason why he decided to carry two bagged lunches to school. According to Dylan, the extra meal was meant to serve a boy at school who only survived on a fruit cup for lunch.
In Dylan’s view, the boy at school only decided to take the simple fruit cup serving because he lacked the money to buy a ‘good lunch.’ The teenager thought his mother could make the boy a meal too.
Duran, who believes that people need to be extra nice if they cannot be pleasant, was pleased by her son’s gesture of kindness and felt sorry for her son’s new friend.
In return, the ‘strange’ boy’s mother contacted Dylan’s school, hoping that the Durans would accept to be compensated for their act of kindness when she found out what was happening, revealing that she had just gotten a job. However, Mrs. Duran declined the offer.
